How much does skydiving cost? In 2026, a tandem skydive most often costs between €220 and €330 in Europe, video not included. Expect around $200 in the US, CHF 490 by helicopter in Interlaken and from AED 1,899 in Dubai. In Morocco, at PACMA, a tandem from 4,000 m costs €250 (2,500 MAD for residents), or €350 with video: around 50 seconds of freefall facing the snow-capped Atlas, at the same price 7 days a week.
The smart way to pay the right price is to look beyond the headline figure, because altitude, video, weekend rates, middlemen and travel can almost double the bill. Below are the public prices we checked, dated and sourced, the price per second of freefall, the real "all-in" cost and the savings worth making, so you book knowing exactly what you will pay, and what you will experience.
The 30-second version
- Europe: €220–€330 for a tandem without video, often more at weekends.
- Per second of freefall: about €5 from 4,000 m, noticeably more for a jump from 3,000 m.
- Video: adds 25–85% to the bill.
- Winter: many northern European dropzones close or slow down from November to March; PACMA jumps every day from 5 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, at the same price on weekdays and weekends.
How much does skydiving cost in 2026? Prices country by country
In 2026, a tandem skydive without video usually costs between €220 and €330 in Europe: €219 in the Algarve, €220–€250 in Spa, €245–€329 in Spain and from £229 in the UK. Switzerland by helicopter (from CHF 490) and Dubai (from AED 1,899) play in a different price category.
We checked the public prices shown on the centres' official websites in October 2026. Every price is given in the centre's own currency, exactly as advertised.
| Destination (centre) | Advertised altitude | Tandem without video (public price) |
|---|---|---|
| USA (Skydive Perris, California) | 14,000 ft (≈ 4,270 m) | from $199 |
| Portugal (Skydive Algarve) | 15,000 ft (≈ 4,570 m) | €219 |
| Belgium (Skydive Spa) | 4,000 m | €220 (weekdays), €250 (weekends) |
| UK (GoSkydive) | 10,000 ft (≈ 3,050 m) | from £229 |
| France (Sport Découverte survey, April 2026) | varies | from €219, €309.70 on average |
| Spain (Skydive Spain, Seville) | 10,000 or 15,000 ft (≈ 3,100 or 4,600 m) | €245 (Monday and Tuesday, early slot), €285 (15,000 ft) |
| Spain (Skydive Empuriabrava) | 13,500 ft (≈ 4,000 m) | €299 (weekdays), €329 (weekends), 2027 rates |
| Netherlands (Paracentrum Texel) | 13,000 ft (≈ 4,000 m) | €314.50 (weekdays), €339.50 (weekends) |
| Switzerland (Skydive Interlaken, helicopter) | ≈ 14,000 ft (≈ 4,000 m) | CHF 490 |
| UAE (Skydive Dubai, Desert) | not stated | AED 1,899 |
| UAE (Skydive Dubai, Palm) | not stated | AED 2,199 |
| Morocco (PACMA, Beni Mellal) | ≈ 4,000 m | €250 (2,500 MAD for residents), 7 days a week |
And at home? Tandem skydive prices in the UK and Ireland
| Centre | Altitude | Tandem (public price, October 2026) | With video | Winter operations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| England, GoSkydive (Old Sarum near Salisbury, and other sites) | 7,000 to 15,000 ft | £149 (7,000 ft, Salisbury only), £229 (10,000 ft), £269 (12,000 ft, Headcorn only), £318 (15,000 ft) | handcam £119, photographer £169, bundle £209 | season from February to November |
| Scotland, Skydive St Andrews (Fife Airport, Glenrothes) | not stated | £280 | video packages available, price not stated | weekends year-round, weather permitting |
| Ireland, Irish Parachute Club (Clonbullogue, Co. Offaly) | 10,000 to 13,000 ft | €320 | not stated | not stated |
What this means if you live in the UK or Ireland: at a comparable altitude, a tandem at PACMA (€250) sits within the range of your local dropzones, and the price does not change at weekends. The real difference is the calendar: in December and January, when GoSkydive is closed and some UK centres jump only at weekends when the weather allows (Skydive St Andrews, for example), Beni Mellal jumps every day of the season, facing the Atlas. Before you book, check the weight and age requirements for a tandem skydive.
Three lessons stand out, and they help you make the right choice:
- Europe sits in a narrow band, roughly €220–€330 for a tandem without video from low or medium altitude. Weekends often cost €25–€30 more (Spa, Empuriabrava, Texel).
- US headline prices look low, but they are "from" prices, before tax, fees and video. Always compare the final total at checkout.
- Dubai and Switzerland are in a league of their own: jumping over the Palm or from a helicopter over the Alps costs nearly twice as much as a European tandem. We compare Dubai and Morocco in detail in our Dubai vs Morocco head-to-head.
Please note: these are public prices we found in October 2026. Centres sometimes change them during the year, so always check the official website when you book.
How much does a second of freefall cost?
This is the figure that reveals the real bargains. Measured against the freefall time each centre advertises, a tandem from about 4,000 m costs around €5 a second, whether at Empuriabrava, Texel or PACMA. From 10,000 ft, each second costs noticeably more: at GoSkydive, about £7.60 a second from 10,000 ft against £5.30 from 15,000 ft, so nearly 45% more for a freefall half as long.
| Centre | Altitude | Advertised freefall | Tandem price | Price per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skydive Perris (USA) | 14,000 ft | ≈ 60 s | $199 | ≈ $3.30 |
| Skydive Empuriabrava (Spain) | 13,500 ft | ≈ 60 s | €299 (weekdays) | ≈ €5.00 |
| PACMA (Morocco) | ≈ 4,000 m | ≈ 50 s | €250 | ≈ €5.00 |
| Paracentrum Texel (Netherlands) | 13,000 ft | ≈ 60 s | €314.50 (weekdays) | ≈ €5.20 |
| GoSkydive (UK) | 15,000 ft | ≈ 60 s | £318 | ≈ £5.30 |
| GoSkydive (UK) | 10,000 ft | ≈ 30 s | £229 | ≈ £7.60 |
| Skydive Interlaken (Switzerland, helicopter) | ≈ 4,000 m | ≈ 45 s | CHF 490 | ≈ CHF 10.90 |
Freefall times are as advertised by each centre; they vary with body weight and position. Price per second is calculated in each centre's own currency. Price per second says nothing about the scenery or the instruction, but it exposes "bargain" prices: a cheaper tandem from 3,000 m often gives you half the freefall of a jump from 4,000 m.
What drives the price: altitude, aircraft, video, season and middlemen
Altitude comes first
The higher you go, the more you pay, because the aircraft burns more fuel and spends longer in the air. Skydive Algarve shows it neatly: €179 from 10,000 ft, €219 from 15,000 ft. Skydive Spain goes from €245 at 10,000 ft to €285 at 15,000 ft, GoSkydive from £229 to £318. You feel the difference in freefall: GoSkydive quotes about 30 seconds of freefall from 10,000 ft and 60 seconds from 15,000 ft. At PACMA, from about 4,000 m, freefall lasts around 50 seconds.
So before comparing two prices, always check the altitude: that's what buys you long seconds of freefall. A "cheap" tandem from 3,000 m is not the same experience as a jump from 4,000 m.
The aircraft
A Pilatus PC-6 Porter, a Cessna Caravan and a Twin Otter differ in capacity and running costs. Turbine aircraft climb fast and carry more jumpers, which spreads the cost. A small piston aircraft carries fewer people and climbs more slowly. PACMA flies a turbine Pilatus PC-6 Porter: 9 skydivers plus the pilot per lift, with a 15 to 20-minute climb as the Atlas draws closer.
Video and photos
This is the extra that moves the bill most. In our survey it adds 25–85% to the price of the jump (see the table below). Some centres include it in a bundle; others sell it separately.
Season and day of the week
Many European centres charge more at weekends: at Empuriabrava the same tandem goes from €299 midweek to €329 at the weekend (2027 rates); in Spa, from €220 to €250. Some keep their lowest price for one specific slot: at Skydive Spain, the €245 tandem is only available on Mondays and Tuesdays, first slot of the morning. And many centres close or slow down in winter (see below).
Middlemen
Gift boxes, booking platforms and local resellers all take a cut, which is either added to the centre's price or taken out of what the centre receives. Always compare with the direct price: we come back to this below.
How much does skydiving cost in winter?
From December to March, the real question is no longer the price but whether the dropzone is open: many northern European centres close or jump only on some weekends. The good news: the sky stays open further south. Among the centres advertising winter jumps, expect €245–€285 in Seville, from CHF 490 in Interlaken, and €250 at PACMA in Beni Mellal, every day of the season.
| Centre | Winter operations (as advertised by the centre) | Tandem |
|---|---|---|
| GoSkydive (UK) | closed in December and January, season from February to November | from £229 |
| 6FLY Avignon-Pujaut (France) | closed from 17 November to 3 March (2026 season) | from €295 |
| Paracentrum Texel (Netherlands) | closed on weekdays in winter, Saturdays only if the weather allows | from €314.50 from 13,000 ft |
| Skydive Empuriabrava (Spain) | Early Bird offer from November to March: 9,000 ft, Wednesday to Friday at 9 am, minimum 3 people | €239 (Early Bird), €299 from 13,500 ft |
| Skydive Spain (Seville, Spain) | describes itself as open all year | €245–€285 |
| Skydive Interlaken (Switzerland) | all year, depending on Alpine weather | from CHF 490 |
| Skydive Dubai (UAE) | winter is the most comfortable season | from AED 1,899 |
| PACMA (Beni Mellal, Morocco) | every day from 5 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, 8:30 am to 6 pm | €250, same price on weekdays and weekends |

For a European, winter changes everything: a tandem in Morocco stays within the European price range, and you jump, often in sunshine, while your usual dropzone is closed, with the snow-capped Atlas as your backdrop. Want to jump this winter? Book your tandem from 4,000 m: €250, the same price on weekdays and weekends, and free rebooking if the weather calls for it.
The hidden costs: video, travel, accommodation and gift-box fees
The jump itself is only part of the budget. These are the costs our instructors see people forget most often: plan for them and you travel relaxed, with no nasty surprises.
Video and photos: the "all-in" price that changes the total
| Centre | Tandem only | Tandem with video/photos | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skydive Perris (USA) | from $199 | $288 ($89 selfie video) to $368 ($169 video + stills) | +45% to +85% |
| Skydive Algarve (Portugal) | €219 | €314 (€95 handcam) | +43% |
| GoSkydive (UK) | £229 | £348 (£119 handcam) | +52% |
| Skydive Spa (Belgium) | €220 (weekdays) | €300 (handcam) to €340 (camera flyer and photos) | +36% to +55% |
| Skydive Spain (Spain) | €285 (15,000 ft) | €379 (instructor handcam) | +33% |
| Skydive Empuriabrava (Spain) | €299 | €379 (instructor-filmed video) | +27% |
| Skydive Dubai (Palm) | AED 2,199 | AED 2,749 (standard video and photos) | +25% |
| PACMA (Morocco) | €250 | €350 (€100 video and photos) | +40% |
Is the video worth it? That is a personal call, but it is also how you get to relive your freefall and share it: we weigh it up in our guide to skydiving videos. Just remember to compare centres like for like: a tandem with video and a tandem without video cannot be compared.
Example: an "all-in" skydiving day in Beni Mellal
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Tandem skydive from 4,000 m | €250 |
| Video and photos | €100 |
| Lunch in the caidal tent beside the runway | 70 MAD |
| On-site medical check, only if you have no certificate | 200 MAD |
| Total on the day | €350 + 70 MAD for lunch (+ 200 MAD only without a medical certificate) |
Travel not included: the drive takes 2 hours from Casablanca and two and a half hours from Marrakech. Friends and family are welcome to come along, and the day by the runway is part of the fun.
Travel and accommodation
A distant dropzone can cost more in fuel, trains or flights than the jump itself. For a skydive abroad, add flights, car hire or transfers and one or two nights' accommodation. Weather can push your jump back a day, so always build in a spare day.
Cancellation, rebooking and last-minute fees
Read the weather policy before you pay. Some centres rebook for free; others keep a deposit. In Dubai, Skydive Dubai charges an extra AED 300 booking fee for walk-ins and sells same-day priority slots for AED 700, on top of the tandem price. At PACMA, you book with peace of mind: weather rebooking is free, for another date in the season or as a credit.
Small costs on the day
Medical certificate, lunch, parking, a souvenir T-shirt: each item is small, but they add up. In Beni Mellal, for example, lunch in the traditional caidal tent beside the runway costs 70 MAD, and an on-site medical check with the club doctor costs 200 MAD if you arrive without a certificate.
Gift-box fees
In France, an experience box for a tandem skydive typically retails at around €280–€380 at large retailers (example found in October 2026). That can be more than the partner centre's direct price, so compare before you buy. On top of that, there are sometimes supplements to pay on the day (weekends, video, altitude).
How much does a skydive cost if you weigh over 90 kg?
Many centres charge a surcharge above a certain weight, then refuse the jump above a safety limit: $25 above 100 kg (220 lb) at Skydive Perris, £10 to £30 between 15 and 18 stone (95 to 114 kg) at GoSkydive. At PACMA, it's simple: the limit is 90 kg fully dressed, and our price list has no weight surcharge.
| Centre | Surcharge | Maximum weight |
|---|---|---|
| Skydive Perris (USA) | $25 above 220 lb (≈ 100 kg) | 240 lb (≈ 109 kg) |
| GoSkydive (UK) | £10 at 15–16 stone, £20 at 16–17, £30 at 17–18 (≈ 95 to 114 kg) | 18 stone (114 kg) fully clothed |
| Skydive Interlaken (Switzerland) | not stated | 100 kg for men, 90 kg for women, with a maximum body mass index |
| Skydive Empuriabrava (Spain), Early Bird offer | not stated | 89 kg dressed |
| PACMA (Morocco) | none in the published price list | 90 kg dressed |
Sources: Skydive Perris, GoSkydive FAQ, Skydive Interlaken, Skydive Empuriabrava, checked in October 2026.
Our instructors' advice: weigh yourself dressed and in shoes, and give your real weight when you book. A weight limit is not a formality: it protects the harness, the canopy and your landing.
Helicopter skydives and famous landmarks: how much do they cost?
"Premium" skydives cost roughly twice a standard tandem: CHF 490 by helicopter over Interlaken, CHF 540 over the Lauterbrunnen valley, CHF 690 for the "Eiger Jump", and AED 2,199 over the Palm in Dubai. You are mostly paying for the setting and the aircraft, not necessarily for more freefall.
Skydive Interlaken quotes around 45 seconds of freefall from the helicopter, against around 50 seconds from PACMA's Pilatus at 4,000 m. Very high-altitude jumps with oxygen (18,000 to 20,000 ft in New Zealand or Hawaii) are another category: NZD 799 from 18,000 ft at Franz Josef, for example. In Beni Mellal, the grand scenery is included at no extra cost: the peaks of the Middle Atlas, often snow-capped in winter, and the Tadla plain beneath your feet.
Cheap skydiving: the savings worth making, and the ones that are not
Looking for cheap skydiving? Great idea, as long as you choose the right savings: the ones that lighten the bill without taking anything away from the experience.
Good savings
- Jump midweek if the centre has a weekend rate.
- Book direct on the centre's website rather than through a reseller.
- Come as a group: many centres offer a discount above a certain number of people. At PACMA, group rates apply from 10 people, on quotation, with booking six days in advance.
- Pick the right season: in winter, a dropzone that is open in the sunshine saves you waiting months or piling up weather rebookings.
- Tie the jump into a trip you are already taking, so it becomes a day out rather than a dedicated holiday.
False economies
- Choosing the lowest price without checking the altitude: you pay less, but you also fall for less time.
- Jumping with an operator you know nothing about: instructor qualifications, an automatic activation device on every rig and federation oversight are not up for negotiation. Our guide to choosing a skydiving centre shows you what to check.
- Leaving no time margin to save a night's hotel: the surest way to miss your jump at the first gust of wind.
The smart move: compare the price per second of freefall, like for like. A tandem from 4,000 m that costs slightly more than one from 3,000 m is often the better deal, and a far stronger memory.
The cost of your first solo freefall (AFF level 1) vs a tandem
A tandem is not the only way to make your first jump. AFF (Accelerated Freefall, called PAC in France) has you jump on your own parachute, held in freefall by two instructors. You deploy your own canopy.
| Option | Example public price (2026) | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Tandem | from $199 in the US to around €330 in Europe | You are a passenger, harnessed to your instructor |
| Solo first jump in France (Sport Découverte, April 2026) | from €390, €712.62 on average | You jump on your own parachute (format depends on the centre) |
| AFF first jump in Spain (Skydive Spain) | €684.50 (AFF level 1) | You jump on your own parachute with two instructors |
| First training jump in the US (Skydive Perris) | $379 ($150 online course + $229 first jump) | You jump on your own parachute with two instructors |
| AFF first jump at PACMA | €500 (6,000 MAD for residents) | A first AFF/PAC jump with two instructors, after ground school |
A first AFF jump therefore costs about twice as much as a tandem. That makes sense: it involves two instructors, ground school and student equipment, and you get the pride of opening your own parachute. If you are thinking of going all the way to a licence, the budget works differently. We have broken it down in our article on the cost of a skydiving licence.
Morocco: €250 for a tandem from 4,000 m, €350 with video
In Morocco, PACMA (Parachute Air Club du Maroc), a club approved by the French Parachuting Federation (FFP), founded in 2000 and based at Beni Mellal airport since 2003, publishes two price lists: in euros for visitors, in dirhams for residents of Morocco.
| 2026-27 service | Non-residents | Residents of Morocco (with proof of residence) |
|---|---|---|
| Tandem skydive from about 4,000 m | €250 | 2,500 MAD |
| Tandem video and photos | €100 | 1,000 MAD |
| Tandem + video and photos | €350 | 3,500 MAD |
| AFF first jump (first PAC jump, 2 instructors) | €500 | 6,000 MAD |
What you get for that price, and this is what really matters: a 15 to 20-minute climb in a Pilatus PC-6 Porter, around 50 seconds of freefall at about 200 km/h, then 5 to 7 minutes under canopy facing the peaks of the Middle Atlas, often snow-capped in winter. You jump with a qualified instructor, on equipment fitted with an automatic activation device, under FFP rules.
Here in Beni Mellal, the 2026-27 season runs from 5 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, every day from 8:30 am to 6 pm, at the same price on weekdays and weekends. If the weather calls for it, rebooking is free, for another date in the season or as a credit: your budget is protected, and that is a real plus when you work out the true cost.
For a European traveller, the jump itself sits at the lower end of European prices for this altitude. The real difference is the season: here you jump in December, January or February, when many northern European dropzones are closed. Do budget for the drive, too: 2 hours from Casablanca, two and a half hours from Marrakech. Many visitors make it a day trip or a weekend. Every rate (licensed skydivers, AFF course, groups) is on our prices page.
Online payment is by card, secured with 3-D Secure, through Tiki, via the payment institution Chari Money. It is charged in Moroccan dirhams (MAD), and the exact amount is shown before you confirm. Both price lists, in euros for non-residents and in dirhams for residents of Morocco, are shown below.
